Students of Delta Central Senatorial District who are currently enrolled in Secondary Schools and Tertiary Institutions across Nigeria are invited to register for the 2025 Urhobo Language Competition. The competition is sponsored by Sen. Ede Dafinone in honour of the late Senator Pius Akpor Ewherido.
This competition is designed to promote and preserve the Urhobo language by encouraging young people to engage with it actively, both in writing and in speech. It offers a unique platform for students to demonstrate their knowledge, writing ability, and fluency in Urhobo.
Participation is open to students in Junior and Senior Secondary School (JSS 1 to SSS 3), Ordinary National Diploma (OND 1 and 2), Higher National Diploma (HND 1 and 2), Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE 1 to 3), and University Undergraduates from 100 to 500 level.
Interested students are strongly encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to preserve their cultural heritage and to compete for prizes as they showcase their skills in the Urhobo language.
